Some kids measure a school in utilization percentages. Ours measure it in which each teacher already knows how they like their Band-Aids and which hallway has the good water fountain.

This shirt is for the families who actually live here, the staff who stayed, and the kids who don’t need a slide deck to tell them they belong. Birch isn’t an empty seat problem on a spreadsheet. It’s a neighborhood school with an ICAN program that already knows its students, teachers who’ve been the consistent adults, and a community that paid for the building they’re now talking about emptying.
